The Old Sflix Closed, but I Found Its New Address

Just putting this out there because a few folks I know were still trying to open the old Sflix bookmark. That version of the site is gone. It didn’t move to some secret menu and your Wi-Fi isnt the problem.

The new Sflix address is sflix.

I’m Darnell, a middle-school music teacher down here in Georgia. Movies and music are pretty much how I reset after spending all day explaining to twelve-year-olds that banging a drum as hard as possible does not automatically make you a drummer.

I use Myflixer 2026 sometimes too, mostly when my wife takes over the TV and I’m stuck watching something on my laptop. But the first movie I checked out after finding the new Sflix was Michael.

My Honest Take on Michael

I went into this one with mixed feelings.

Michael Jackson’s music has been around my whole life. I’ve taught some of those bass lines to students, talked about his rhythm and shown kids how much work goes into making a performance look effortless. So yeah, I was gonna notice if the movie got the music wrong.

Good news: the performance scenes are easily the best part.

Jaafar Jackson doesnt just copy the famous dance moves. He gets the posture, the little pauses and that quiet nervous energy before Michael turns into a completely different person onstage. A few times I honestly forgot I was watching an actor.

The Jackson 5 scenes were probably my favorite. They show how talented those kids were, but also how much pressure was sitting on their shoulders. When I see my students panic over a small school concert, I cant imagine what it was like performing for huge crowds while your family’s future depended on you.

Great Music, but the Story Feels Too Careful

The movie sounds fantastic. If you’ve got decent speakers, turn them up a little. Not enough to make the neighbors call somebody, but enough to feel the bass.

Still, the story plays things pretty safe.

It spends alot of time showing Michael as a gifted, misunderstood artist surrounded by people who either wanted to control him or make money from him. Some of that is probably true, but the movie sometimes feels like it’s scared to ask harder questions.

That bothered me.

A biopic doesnt need to trash its subject, but it shouldnt feel like a long tribute video either. Michael Jackson had a complicated life, and the film smooths down some of those rough edges until everything looks a little too clean.

Also, the pacing gets weird near the end. The early years take their time, then later parts of his career start flying past like the director realized the school bell was about to ring.

Is Michael Worth Watching?

Yeah, especially for the music and Jaafar’s performance.

It’s not the complete story of Michael Jackson, and I dont think it really tries to be. Think of it more like a beautifully made introduction to his rise, his family and the work behind those iconic performances.

My students would probably give it a 10 just for the dancing. I’m going with 7 out of 10.

Great songs, strong acting and some seriously impressive stage scenes. I just wish the movie had been brave enough to step outside the spotlight and spend more time in the shadows.
